The first term Orange Democratic Movement lawmaker for Embakasi East constituency Hon. Babu Owino has found himself on a hot soup following a a statement he shared on his social media platforms concerning the 2022 presidential race.
According to Babu Owino, it is only the former prime minister Raila Odinga out of a the presidential candidates who will ensure that another person from Kikuyu community becomes president of this country.
Babu explains that if Raila succeeds president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022, he will only serve for a single term and then supports another person from Mount Kenya to succeed him.
His statement was not well received by a number of his followers who reminded him that Kenya is a democratic country and the people will choose whoever they want to be their president in 2022.
"Lead by example, you have served for one term, give someone else chance next year," William Samoei.
"We don't want the presidency, we want the president who will give back to the people and ensure their livelihoods ate okey. Even if he rules forever and the citizens are happy, then so be it," Blessed Son.
"This country is so rich in tribes and they deserve to be part and parcel of its leadership. Let's not vote for tribes rather let the best woman or man be given chance to rule so long as the interest of Kenya is at stake," Vinny Omosh.
"That's not language of educated politician, delete it," M Salad.
"Mount Kenya is so hyped, there are other 41 tribes," Kiplangat.
"I agree with you to some extent but not power going back to Mount Kenya," Ben Arteta.
