Independent Lamu Women Rep elect joins Kenya Kwanza, received by president elect Ruto in Karen

Lamu Women representative elect as an independent candidate Monicah Muthomi Marubi has today officially joined Kenya Kwanza Alliance led by president elect William Ruto and deputy president elect Rigathi Gachagua.

The youthful woman representative elect was warmly received to Kenya Kwanza camp by president elect William Ruto at his official residence in Karen.

" Welcome to Kenya Kwanza Monicah Muthoni Marubu, the women representative of Lamu county. Let serve our people" wrote president elect William Ruto on his official Facebook page.

Other Kenya Kwanza Alliance leaders present in the meeting includes; national assembly speaker Justin Muturi, Gatundu South legislator and Chama Cha Kazi party leader Moses Kuria, Kikuyu legislator Kimani Ichungwa and Kiharu legislator Ndindi Nyoro.

Madam Monicah Muthoni Marubu won the women representative seat with 16,480 votes trouncing down his close competitor of Jubilee party who got 13, 174 votes. Nominated MCA secured the third position with 10, 398 votes.

The incumbent Lamu Women representative Ruweida Obo didn't defend her seat but vied for Lamu East parliamentary seat on a Jubilee party ticket. She trounced down the incumbent Lamu East legislator Sharif Athman who was seeking a third term on a UDA party ticket.

Other independent candidates who have joined Kenya Kwanza Alliance includes; North Imenti legislator Rahim Dawood, Mbeere South legislator Nebart Muriuki, Nambale legislator Ekesa Mulanya and Gatundu North legislator Njoroge Kururia.
