President Ruto and Mr. Kenyatta last shared a stage on September 13 for Dr. Ruto's inauguration as the nation's fifth president.
This is one of two initiatives being undertaken by regional and continental leaders to bring about peace in the DRC and the other one is known as the Luanda process.
The Luanda process seeks to mend the diplomatic split between Rwanda and the DRC whilst the Nairobi process concentrates on talks between DRC rebels, the local populace and the government to end internal conflicts.
