The Political dramas in Uasin Gishu County seems to be turning quite interesting after the sitting Governor Hon Jackson Mandago declared his ambition to vie for Senate Seat. Notably, the county is the homeground for the Deputy President William Samoei Ruto, and therefore flavouring the race.(Courtesy photo)
It's remembered Hon Margeret Kamar, who is the current Senator for the county, and also a close ally to Gideon Moi. She is also expected to defend the seat on account that she has been the best performing senator in Parliament.(Courtesy photo)
However, their race is expected to draw much attention from the two Political rivals from Rift valley who double to be among the hopeful Presidential candidates, Dr William Samoei Ruto and Gideon Moi. This also might force the two to come out, and even campaign for their respective candidates as a way of portraying their political supremacy in the county.
At the moment, Mandago has a lot of confidence to win the race in the next poll, claiming that he had performed in his Governorship role. He has been asking the residents to elect him so as to do oversight role at the National level.
Anyway, let wait to see the unfolding Political battles in Uasin Gishu County as 2022 elections approach.
