Narok senator Ledama Olekina on 27th February at night shared the current situation in northern parts of the country seeking support for his people.
Talking via his official twitter handle, Ledama Olekina admitted that kenyans are really suffering citing drought has affected them really hard.
According to Olekina, people will now follow the suit as drought continues to wipe out cows and other domestic animals.
He as well opined that kenyans in the affected regions want only food and nothing else therefore seeking support from the government, NGO and well-wishers.
" Kenyans are seriously suffering;- the drought is biting real hard! We have lost all our cows and soon our people will follow suit… all we want is Food! Nothing else … Our brothers and sisters in Samburu , Marsabit, Kajiado, and Narok are seriously affected by the drought!", He wrote.
His statement comes off when hunger is continuing to ravage northern part of Kenya despite government's effort of providing relief food to affected communities.
Olekina's statement however raised mixed reactions from Kenyans online who seem to be inline with his statement.
Rodgers: When we say drill boreholes, get thw community involved in these projects,we increase our forest cover hamtaki.if everyone from Maandamano is also forced to plant trees when the rains come things will change..
Ben: u r right. bt at a personal level what percentage of our hefty perks do u put aside to help ua felow mortals who okeyd u to go ad b receiving them. how many affected families have u adopted?.
