The visit by the Former Premier was meant to offer prayers, encouragement, and to extend support to the family amidst the hard times owing to Ayimba's hospitalization in a Nairobi Hospital.
"I met the family of Kenyan Rugby legend Benjamin Ayimba who is currently hospitalized to offer prayers, encouragement, and extend support to them. You are in our prayers Benja," Raila said after the meeting.
The visit by the Former Prime Minister to the family has sparked a series of mixed reactions from Kenyans online including;
"Sometimes, it’s hard to not admire your persona Rt. Hon. You spare time and visit a Benjamin Ayimba, a sportsman, a venture that has nothing to do with vote hunting. Inspiring a generation means teaching it to care, even when care is not reciprocated, even when you ain’t benefiting. The other political divide has mastered the art of teaching the public - the ways of scratch my back; the politics of influence. If you ain’t commanding votes or loaded money-wise, you’ll hardly see them come to you. Viva Comrade & Patriot!"- Ogutu Kennedy
"Thank you our beloved 5th PRESIDENT you have represented the whole world, everyone kenyans too feels well represented. Quick recovery to our heroe Ayimba." - Sabwami KE
"Good gesture Baba, now you will see all politicians making their way to that family including the ever crying MDVD who should have been the first to offer support." - Peter Brooks
"Kindly help fix our healthcare we should be convening to offer prayers not always financial support." - Ken Mwenda
