When the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga arrived in Turkana county on Friday, the county governor who is a close ally of the Deputy President William Ruto was no where to receive the powerful visitor.
Governor Josphat Nanok, who is an ODM elected governor was not among the delegation that received Raila Odinga at the airstrip when they landed with his leaders who were escorting him.
The high profile leaders present is the Cabinet Secretary in charge of Mining who hails from the area John Munyes and s host of other local leaders.
It would have been expected that Josphat Nanok would be among the leaders who would welcome the former Prime Minister in Turkana since he has been elected under the ODM party.
However, Nanok has already endorsed the candidature of deputy president William Ruto who is seeking to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta when he leaves the presidency in 2022.
Raila Odinga arrived in the company of other close allies including Suna East member of Parliament Honourable Junet Mohamed who has been by the side of the firmer prime minister for sometime now.
