Different names have come up on who will be a worthy opponent against Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the tough presidential race.
Makali claimed there are events that could destroy Ruto’s strategy after struggling for months to build his support base in areas not considered to be his stronghold.
Makali said should regional kingpins decide to declare their interest to be in the presidential race, this will reduce Ruto’s chances of getting the support he needs to win come next year.
According to the political analyst, if Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) who comes from Western and National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi from Mt Kenya and also kingpins from other regions decide to be in the presidential race, DP Ruto will lose his support base in those regions.
“DP Ruto’s success is pegged on the support from Mt Kenya region. He has support from around the country but the hustler will be completely vanquished if he loses his regional support.”
“If Musalia was to run in Western, Muturi runs in Mt Kenya region the whole political game will be rearranged. The appearance of the hustler running away with this thing is an illusion because the opposition against him has not been formed,” said Makali.
Makali, speaking during an interview with Citizen further claimed that ODM leader Raila Odinga will fail to get the numbers he need to win if OKA does not support him.
The political analyst said Raila should step aside instead of risking trying to win then ruin his reputation by being defeated by Ruto or the other aspirants who are younger than him.
“What are Raila’s chances of success? If OKA does not support him, where does he get the numbers to actually make a serious stab that can even disturb the hustler? Raila cannot go out in a disgraceful manner having lost to a junior politician,” added Makali.
