Early this month the first batch of the Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccine arrived in Kenya. It gave hope to most Kenyans since the pandemic came with so many disadvantages leaving most people jobless and others losing their loved ones.
The vaccine came as part of COVAX facility which is an initiative aiming at ensuring that all countries worldwide get it. Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, Dr Rudi Eggers and Kenyan UNICEF representative Maniza Zaman are the ones who received it that the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Since the arrival of the vaccine Kenyans have been eagerly waiting for the President and CS Kagwe and other officials to take the vaccine. Today their wishes came true as the President, the first lady, CS Health Mutahi Kagwe, CS Matiang'i and Rachael Omamo took the vaccine.
Governors Amason Kingi and Samuel Tunai, the Chairperson of Inter-Faith Council Archbishop Anthony Muheria, President of the Court of Appeal Justice William Ouko and acting Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu also took the vaccine.
