More strife has erupted in the Kenya Kwanza coalition, with claims of one member party attempting to exert control over alliance activities.
Some member parties have complained about unfair treatment, claiming that the UDA has denied them the right to campaign for their candidates.
They have chastised William Ruto, Kenya Kwanza's senior leader, for only campaigning for UDA candidates in combined Kenya Kwanza rallies while arguing for six-piece voting.
This has upset TSP party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri, who has announced that his party will henceforth operate independently on its candidates' campaigns. He went on to say that this does not mean they are abandoning their support for Ruto's candidacy, and that they will continue to advocate for him on their own.
According to Citizen TV, the former Agriculture Secretary said in a press conference that "emerging conflicts, sibling rivalry, territorial protection, and attention seeking are concerning because they could easily result in unfavorable consequences for our presidential candidate if not properly managed."
