Fiery Budalang'i member of parliament Raphael Wanjala has taken the centre stage in Raila Odinga's western tour in 'poisoning' the masses against Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula's plea for the region to redirect their votes to DP Ruto's presidential bid given that they have been loyal to Raila for over a decade.
While speaking to an ecstatic crowd of Mr. Odinga's supporters in Butula constituency which is predominantly occupied by the Marachi sub-tribe of the Luhya community, Wanjala who exhibited unusual vigour and confidence led the crowds in a chant to disown the Kenya Kwanza duo.
'Mudavadi tawe, Wetangula tawe' chants which loosely translates to 'no to Wetangula and no to Mudavadi' commanded the air as Raila who sat a few metres kept watch while mesmerized of how almost all those who graced the event agreed with the MP's directives
Since Raila made entry into Mudavadi's hometown of Vihiga, Wanjala has been very conspicuous among the whole speakers, causing speculations that Raila may be grooming him to be the next big man in Luhya politics.
Despite Wetangula and Mudavadi walking out of Raila months ago, the ODM chief has had a seemless entry into Western Kenya to a point that Mudavadi's absence was not felt at all
