President William Ruto has acknowledged that his daughter Charlene may have received terrible advice and bad company over her comments made at the Office of the First Daughter.
When Charlene made her statements at the 2022 YouLead Summit, which was held in the East African Community Headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania, late last year, she was in the thick of a controversy.
She has since been fired by Ruto, who claims that she is being misled and given bad advice by those close to her, which is why she made the declaration that the office even had personnel.
"This girl is acting like a child, you know? She has this space, and perhaps she is being pushed by her coworkers. saying to her, "Perhaps we could do this, but you know, she is... she is okay," he stated on Wednesday.
On Wednesday night, he made the comments during a press conference at State House in Nairobi.
Even he, the head of state, is aware that the office doesn't exist. This is after Charlene clarified the situation by stating that the office is not financed by taxes.
Ruto has also been under fire for Charlene's comments from his detractors and opponents, some of whom have prompted him to build offices that don't exist to accommodate those who are around him.
