The two houses of parliament have established framework which will be followed to speed up the process of constitution amendment bill 2020 also known as building bridges initiative.
In a statement on march 3 ,senate speaker Kenneth Lusaka stated that they have agreed with the speaker of National Assembly Justin Muturi that the bill will be introduced in both houses simultaneously .
The bill would be introduced in the sanete for the first reading on Thursday March 4 ,2021.The same bill will be rolled out in the national assembly the same day.
Lusaka further directed the standing committee on justice and legal affairs and Human Right to hold joint sitting with National assembly counterpart on the bill.These committee are also expected to hold public participation jointly according to standing order 224.
On the other hand National assembly speaker on February 2 ,detected the clerks to urgently obtain sufficient copies in form the was presented to 47 counties assembly by the IEBC.Muturi also notified the house that he had received the certificates from the counties that approved the Bill(BBI)
The bill for not require the 14-days period applicable to other bills..what is your view on this?
