Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance boss Raila Odinga and his camp have been called upon by a section of leaders from Nyanza Region to abort the plan of holding public rallies in protest of the plan to oust 4 commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The politicians led by Former Rangwe MP Martin Ogindo, Former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma and Former Kisumu Senator Fred Outa among others claimed that Raila was planning to use the youth for his selfish interests, further arguing that he is turning the community and the youth as perpetual demonstrators.
Ogindo urged the youths to shun any plan by the Azimio team to hold protests, saying that the camp should look for other ways of expressing their discontent with the sitting government.
Ranguma termed Raila's plan as ridiculous since it is coming at a time when the Azimio chairman and Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has been advocating for peace, yet the ODM boss is pushing for protests.
Others who attended the press briefing said that the opposition should give Ruto's Kenya Kwanza government time to deliver on his agenda.
Raila is currently leading a Parliamentary Group Meeting of the Azimio wing, and it is expected that the issue of the said rallies will be discussed at length.
