Raila Odinga's unveiling of Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua as his running mate was both a joy and a setback. Although it was received well by Azimio La Umoja supporters across the country, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka calls it an end in that coalition.
Kalonzo decided that he will be vying for presidency after he claimed that he was shortchanged by Raila Odinga. Last week, Kalonzo was pictured with Raila's spokesperson Prof. Makau Mutua. It was rumoured that he could be heading back to Azimio.
Kalonzo's desire to leave Azimio has been dealt a huge blow after David Murathe revealed that Kalonzo is bound by the law to remain in Azimio La Umoja. He added that Kalonzo Musyoka has been a beneficiary and although he may leave the coalition, he will have no bargaining power in any coalition. A Party should remain in a coalition six months before election or three months after election.
