Prediction On What Will Happen If Raila Gets 35% Mt Kenya Votes

Charles Nyambuga, a commentator at Maseno University, asserts that if Raila triumphs in Mount Kenya, as many political analysts believe he will, he would make up for the support he has lost among his base. Mt. Kenya will continue to have last say in who becomes president. He stated that Raila "needs to achieve the statistics we saw in the Mt Kenya surveys" in order for him to win.

If he wins with 35% of the vote, the majority of the votes from Western and Coast will be returned. Nyanza claims that if they all cast their ballots in unison, "Raila will win the election," as Coast has a small voter base.

As stated by Nyambuga, ""Ruto's claim that he was based on 90% of the Rift Valley and 90% of Mount Kenya was false. The 35% in Central is enormous in numbers, so that will fill and overload the Raila kitty. The likelihood of Raila winning this election is good." The performance of Martha Karua in Mount Kenya is used as a yardstick to determine whether or not UDA received a poisoned chalice for choosing Rigathi Gachagua.

Gitile Naituli, a former NCIC commissioner, thinks Karua will give the Azimio campaign more votes from Mt. Kenya than Uhuru did. "Mount Kenya has not received Uhuru's gift. Karua has provided the area.
