Interior and National Cohesion Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i, has vowed not to accept his people of Kisii region to head to opposition in upcoming August 9 general elections, since the coalition which is going to form the next government is the Azimio la Umoja Movement-One Kenya Alliance coalition led by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking during the Azimio la Umoja Movement-One Kenya Alliance coalition presidential campaigns in Nyamira County today, Matiang'i endorsed the Azimio la Umoja Movement-One Kenya Alliance coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga's bid, saying he is the one who is going to form the next government hence he cannot accept his people of Kisii to go to opposition by supporting William Ruto. He added that the Ruto was involved in the eviction and killing of Kisii community members during the 2007 post-election violence in Rift Valley region.

"My people of Kisii we have agreed this time round that we are going to work together as a block in Nyanza region, from here to Kisumu we will walk behind this Mzee (Raila Odinga). We cannot accept to go to opposition as this Mzee is forming government I cannot accept my people to go that other direction (DP Ruto's side), we cannot go to people who killed and chased away our people in 2007 from Rift Valley..." He argued.
