General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, stated on January 12 that his words about taking over Nairobi in two weeks were mostly a joke.
Muhoozi was shocked that while most people spotted the jest in his statements, some took it seriously after what appeared to be a carefully worded remorseful apology.
However, he assured his people that truth will always prevail. I made a 'joke' three months ago about occupying Nairobi in two weeks,
Unfortunately, it wasn't for some people. In either case, the truth will prevail! He declared, "The East African Federation shall be realized.
Muhoozi stated in October 2022 that he and his troops will be able to seize control of Nairobi in less than two weeks. He claimed in a series of tweets, which many people took to be an apparent demonstration of the power he and his army had.
He said, "My army and I wouldn't need two weeks to take Nairobi.
Muhoozi, who was also the Commander of the Ugandan army, expressed regret over the fact that Uhuru Kenyatta, the previous president, would have won if he had run for office a third time.
