Unemployment has been a long time challenge in the greater Africa continent as a larger percentage of the young generation still miss out on different opportunities. In Kenya, The government has been trying to curb the youth unemployment problem and create chances for the youth but it is still a big challenge since the high number of the youths still sit back with nothing to cling on.

Unemployment is not only a challenge in Kenya or Africa but also even in countries seen as the most developed ones. So it's upon the respective governments to move in with speed to create opportunities to the unemployed Youths as a way of solving the issue at hand. Here I talk about some ideas the authorities can put in action in trying to create chances for the unemployed youths.

First, the Kenyan government should encourage SME's to the youths. Small and medium-sized enterprises {SME} is not a new sector in the country. This sector has seen a number of young people getting opportunities and funds, which at a level helped them in escaping from unemployment. The government therefore should encourage more of it's younger generation to be more active in taking their chances in this sector. The authority can move with speed to those remote areas too since many of the unemployed persons are in these remote places.

Second, the government should encourage more entry of the private investment sectors in it's markets. The authority can allow as many investors as possible to come into the country and maybe put in place policies that enables the investors to employ atleast a given percentage of youths during recruitment. By doing this, the youths are more likely to be given chances in these new markets to show their skills and learn new ideas from their employers.

Third, the government can also offer the young generation opportunities outside the informal sector. The largest percentage of the youths in the country are in the Jua-kali sector as a form of employment. It is not a bad sector as many people have managed to succeed through this sector, however the government should encourage the different departments and ministries especially the labor one to try and create chances and job opportunities to the fresh graduates as a way of reducing the number of unemployed youths who atleast posses skills that can drive change in the different government bodies.

And lastly, government institutions and policymakers can also move in with speed to invest time and resources in creating of self-driven entrepreneurship environment to the youths. The government should encourage it's youths' entrepreneurial ideas and opportunities and where possible make policies that provide funds for the young people even if it means an after time refund.
