Kamanda Opens up on Whether Raila Gives Money to Those Attending His Rallies

ODM leader Raila Odinga never gives out any money to people to attend his rallies around the country, Nominated MP Maina Kamanda has said.

Raila has been attracting big crowds during his ongoing 'Azimio La Umoja' consultative forums, even as he holds that he hasn't began his campaigns.

The same has been the case when he visits Mt Kenya, which has for long fought his leadership and where he was once considered unwanted.

Kamanda has said that the people come out to listen to Raila's ideologies and not for his money, saying that he has never seen him give out any.

"I have worked with him for there and a half years now and I have never seen him give out any money to people to follow him. They come out to listen to him because if what he is saying," he said.

The former Starehe parliamentarian made the remarks while accompanying Raila to a church service at the Jesus Teaching Ministry in Nairobi.

He added that Raila is making good progress with regards to courting the Mt Kenya vote, saying that his support percentage is on the rise.

He predicted that by June next year, 70 percent of the mountain population will be with him, after which he will proceed to secure the presidency.

"Baba is climbing the mountain. Yesterday we were in Nyeri which is the peak. By June he will be at 70 percent. We will unite and campaign for him," he said.

Raila is fighting for the region's attention with Deputy President William Ruto, who has also been agressively wooing it to his side ahead of the poll.
