Meru: "We Won't Allow You To Take Us To Opposition, Ruto Is Our President In 2022" Murungi Reminded

Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi has yet, again, found himself in an embarrassing situation after he embroiled in ugly tussle with Kenyans who gave their views on his latest move.

This follows after a number of them hit out at him for welcoming and entertaining Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi in Meru on Saturday. They reminded him that the residents were not ready to be relegated to the opposition side of political divide in 2022 courtesy of his recent moves. Also, they informed him that the locals had made up their minds to support deputy president Dr William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

This follows after Murungi posted a message on his official Facebook page on how he hosted Mudavadi in the county on the aforementioned day. He revealed that the ANC chief was on a tour to Meru to present his socioeconomic development blueprint for Mt Kenya East region. He alleged that Mudavadi gave him a ten-point plan for the region when he becomes president in next year's polls. He argued that he would engage all the presidential aspirants in the prospective election over what they plan to do for Meru county and Kenyans and then leave the locals to make their choices.

ThThis comes days after Murungi hosted former prime minister Raila Odinga where he also took him through the process akin to what he subjected Mudavadi to. He had also put himself in a humiliating situation when he endorsed Raila's State House bid in a move that did not auger well with his supporters.
