Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula has said that the county leaders and more so the Governor Fernandes Barasa and him, will work with President William Ruto for the sake of their residents, saying that it is time for people to move on past the August 9th 2022 elections.
Speaking to the media, Savula said that they are aimed at tapping in to resources from the national government, and will not shy away from engaging with Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Government.
"No one will block us from working with William Samoei Ruto. Forget about the 2022 polls it is over, it is now behind us. We are now focused on service delivery to the people, and we will work with Ruto day and night," he said.
He added, "The people of Kenya respect the president, the people of Kakamega also respect the president. People of Kakamega County will work with William Ruto."
His remarks comes days after he accompanied Barasa for a meeting at State House, Nairobi hosted by President Ruto.
Savula despite being in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance camp, is among some of the leaders who did not attend the camp's rally that took place today at Kamukunji Grounds.
