Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga on Saturday hosted the Youth Affairs, Sports and Arts Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba, a day after she hosted President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua during their first day of their two-day tour to the Nyanza Region.
During the president's visit, Wanga assured him that her county government is ready to work with the national government, but noted that the county is still in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance camp, and are loyal to their kingpin the Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Ruto also affirmed that his government will work with all Kenyans irrespective of which political side they took during the August 9th polls.
Namwamba's visit was announced through the Ministry's official Twitter account, which comes as the CS's plan to visit all stadiums across the country to ascertain their state with an aim of reviving football and sports.
"CS Ababu Namwamba this afternoon visited the Homa Bay Stadium to inspect the ongoing construction works. The CS was received by Homa Bay County Governor H.E. Gladys Wanga who took him on a tour of the stadium."
"The CS committed to working with the county government to ensure that the stadium was completed and done to the right standards. He was joined by local leadership, including nominated MP @renee_mayaka, among other dignitaries," the message read.
Namwamba was among other leaders who attended the burial ceremony of the Late media icon Catherine Kasavuli, and which took place in Vihiga county.
Namwamba while eulogizing Kasavuli termed her as a role model to many people, further revealing that he has learnt that the unit of the family must be given the first priority as well as true friendship.
