"It is Time to Pack And Go" Ichungwah Tells 'Cherera 4' Amid Protest From Raila's Camp

The Majority leader in the National Assembly Kimani Ichungwah has led the Kenya Kwanza Alliance leaders in the National Assembly to support the removal of the four commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and who distanced themselves from President William Ruto's win.

The 4 and who are being defended by Raila Odinga's Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance team are; Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi, Justus Nyang'aya and the IEBC vice chair Juliana Cherera.

Led by Raila, the Azimio leaders claimed that Ruto is out to revenge against the 4.

While making his submissions on Thursday after the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) proposed to the president the formation of a tribunal, Ichungwah said that the 4 should not be in office since they tried subverting the will of Kenyans.

"These commissioners were made to believe that there exists a deep state to rig elections. The people to pick the leaders in any election in this country are the voters who wake up early to go and cast their votes to their preferred leaders."

"Never against should any other person attempt to overturn the will of the people exercised at the ballot. These four tried to subvert the will of Kenyans. Commissioners Masit, Cherera, Wanderi and Nyang'aya, it is time to pack and leave," he said.
