Professor Peter kawanja.
Having observed the unfolding Political developments in the country in the recent past, the former government adviser has chosen to give a verdict.
Mt Kenya may not have a serious presidential candidate in next year's general election hence it has become a a hunting ground for those ken on inheriting president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Accordingl to Kawanja, the hunter of yesterday having produced three out of four of Kenya's presidents has now become the hunted.
The 10 counties of mount Kenya which Contributes to 28% of Kenya's GDP will have over 10 million voters by next year's general election, hence it is likened to a besutify girl with multiple suitors.
Now among the Winners that Kawanja has mentioned is deputy presudy William Ruto who has really penetrated the region using his divisive hustler narative.
According to Kawanja, the reason as to why Ruto is having a field in consolidating support in the region and other parts of Kenya is because his Opponents are busy in courts trying to salvage BBI.
Another reason that is making Ruto stronger and a 'man to beat' is an opposition that is busy squabbling for leadership.
It's worth noting that both Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Raila Odinga want to be president come 2022.
The good professor goes on to elucidate Ruto's exploits in Ruuri ward and Juja by-elections and now the hotly contested Kiambaa mini poll pitying UDA versus jubilee as clear signs of Ruto's success in Mount Kenya.
He however seems to join fellow professor Ngugi Wathiongo in lamenting the Gikiyu nation's decision to reject Wealth and instead follow a new identity called hustler.
According to Ngugi, this way a community is destroyed whereby people are made to associate poverty with virtue and Wealth with vice.
Kawanja goes on to say that jubilee party's decision to form a Coalition with ODM may not yield any dividends so long as the mountain doesn't have a formidable candidate.
Do you agree with Kawanja that Ruto is a man to beat in August 2022? Feel free to share your thoughts and comments on this on our comments platform.
