According to Citizen TV reporter John Wanyama who was reporting from Uasin Gishu County, Korir is currently in police custody but it remains unclear what really engineered his arrest. Citizen TV also provided that the cause of the arrest is not linked with the ongoing elections in various part of the country.
Other political leaders were also arrested today as a result of engaging in unlawful practices. In Kiamokama ward by- election in Kisii County, Moses Nyakeremba who is a candidate of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) was arrested alongside renown politician Don Bosco Gichana.
Other areas where elections are ongoing include London and Hell's Gate Wards in Nakuru County, and Matungu Constituency. Voters have however been asked to maintain peace and order throughout the electioneering period.
