In the aftermath of the unfortunate events that unfolded at Gusii Stadium as the Azimio-OKA Presidential running mate Martha Karua toured the County today on June 30th bringing her rally to a premature end, the National Police Service has greatly denounced the incident.
In a statement signed by the National Police Service spokesperson Bruno Shioso and shared to Facebook, the police service condemned what transpired at Gusii Stadium and revealed that thorough investigations into the matter were underway.
The police service in that statement also assured that public that tough actions will be taken on the individual who was behind that teargas.
The statement read that "the National Police Service Headquarters is in receipt of an incident report from Police in Kisii where a teargas canister was discharged during a public meeting graced by Hon Martha Karua who is the Azimio presidential running mate and attended by many leaders and the general public.
The circumstances surrounding the incident is a matter currently under investigation.
The NPS wishes to reassure the public that firm and decisive action shall be taken on anyone found to have been responsible for the act leading to the discharge of the teargas."
