The ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and fisheries have been ranked as the worst performing ministry in year 2021/22. The largest ministry in terms of members ranging from Tea Farmers, Coffee, herders and fishermen was the worst performing.
The Cabinet Secretary for the ministry Peter Munya was the poor performing minister. According to an evaluation carried out by the Public Service Performance Management and Monitoring Unit (PSPMMU), Munya’s ministry did not even meet the average expectations.
The CS has been leading the forces against the recent crowning of Speaker Muturi as the regions Kingpin. He even declared himself as the Kingpin and not Muturi stating that his experience in the political arena lacked competition.
However, despite his interest in the Region, he has failed one of the largest ministries in the country leading to further pain to the farmers.
The best performing ministry was CS Joe Mucheru’s ICT Ministry followed closely by Ministry of Sports.
