United Democratic Alliance party secretary-general Veronica Maina, has for once praised former prime minister Raila Odinga after President William Ruto's Successful Tour Of the Nyanza region where he was warmly recieved by all the three Luo Nyanza Leaders and a number of elected leaders from the region.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with a local Television channel K24Tv, Maina who readily attacks Raila and the Azimio team lauded the former prime minister for Statesmanship after he encouraged his Troop to embrace the head of state and even to warmly welcome him.

She noted that by Raila mobilising his troops, he clearly indicated that he has now recognised President William Ruto's presidency.

On the other hand, he lauded president William Ruto for putting politics aside to launch development projects in an area that never voted for him in the August General elections. She noted that the head of state has set a tone for the whole country by prioritising Raila's stronghold in his first months in the office.

"It was a very good show of statesmanship for Hon. Raila to even encourage the leaders to turn up and welcome the President in Nyanza." Veronica Maina stated during the interviews.

During the president's tours of the Nyanza region, many local leaders appeared to have been pushing for talks between him and the former prime minister with Siaya Governor James Orengo telling him to have 'a brotherly' talks with Raila.

The leaders also appeared to have confirmed that indeed the meetings had the blessings of their party leader who is the kingpin of the Luo Nyanza region, a region that has been behind him for years. The president toured three out of four counties dominated by the Luo community.
