David Murathe, deputy chairman of the Jubilee party, has finally disclosed what Kenyans should expect following the general elections on August 9th. On Monday, May 23, 2022, Murathe spoke with Nation media organization in an interview.
Murathe, a long-time supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta and now a supporter of Raila Odinga, is completely behind Azimio la Umoja candidate Raila Odinga.
He is also opposed to a Ruto-led government and has claimed numerous times that Ruto would never be Kenya's president.
However, the head of Jubilee has promised that if Ruto is elected by Kenyans, he will respect their decision. In addition, Murathe stated that if Ruto defeats Raila, Uhuru will be the first to congratulate him.
If Uhuru wins, he will also hand over the reins of authority to Ruto, as is required by the constitution. Despite their differences, Murathe revealed that Uhuru is bound by the law and will eventually pass up authority to Ruto.
