Today, Royal media services chairman SK Macharia cleared the air on the historical speculations that Mzee Jomo Kenyatta grabbed the extensive lands owned by his family in Kenya. He denied the claims by briefing that he was in charge of land transfers from whites to Africans.
The debate on land injustices has been there for a long period of time though records are clear on transfers of land. According to news covered by Tuko on Facebook, Media mogul Macharia said, "I was recruited and given a job to transfer land from Wazungus Agriculture Development Corporation (ADC) to Africans."
"Those who say that Kenyatta stole land, come with me I take you to the archive.For every piece of land, documents of anybody who got land from British has my signature and that of the late Gakonyo."
His statement comes merely a week after several politicians from various political factions claimed that issues of land and property that was exposed on some leaders should be done equally.
