Today president Uhuru Kenyatta received a report from presidential taskforce on review of power purchase agreements. The presidential taskforce recommended the reduction of electricity tariffs by 33%. The president accepted the recommendations.
ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi have commended president Uhuru Kenyatta for accepting the recommendations made by the taskforce. He said that this move by the head of state will reduce the cost of production and manufacturing in the country.
The party leader further said that this will in long run reduce the cost of goods, increase profit margin for manufacturers and create more jobs. The presidential candidate has been advocating for economic revival in the country through his Uchumi Bora campaigns.
The former deputy prime minister called upon the government and national parliament to move fast and review taxes affecting the petroleum products in the country. The government under the ministry of energy and petroleum products increased the taxes resulting to increased prices in the products.
