Deputy speaker of the National Assembly and Uasin Gishu county women representative Hon. Gladys Boss Sholei has today received two vehicles from Algeria.
Sholei said she was accompanied by her fellow legislators when she received the fully kitted ambulance and a van.
"Alongside fellow legislators, I today received a consignment of two vehicles. A fully kitted ambulance and an Executive Van donated by the People's Republic of Algeria to the Republic of Kenya," Hon. Sholei said.
Further, the deputy speaker thanked the government of Algeria which she termed a "Kind gesture of friendship."
"I thank the government of Algeria for the kind gesture of friendship," Sholei posed.
Speaking on Thursday, May 18, 2023, Sholei said that speaker Moses Wetangula is also currently in Algeria where made an official visit and held talks with Algerian president, Hon. Abdelmadjid Tebbuone.
"The fraternal donation comes after a formal visit to Algeria by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Wetangula. He held talks with the Algerian president," Sholei added.
Furthermore, Algeria's ambassador to Kenya, Hamza Karour, is the one who handed over on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebbuone.
"Hamza Karour, Algeria's ambassador to Kenya, handed over the consignment on behalf of the Algerian President and People," Sholei concluded.
However, the deputy speaker did not disclose when she and speaker Moses Wetangula departed for Algeria and the date of landing back in the country.
