Mike Mbuvi Sonko is the former governor of Nairobi County. The sensational politician was impeached by the Members of County Assemblies of Nairobi County and later by the Senate.
This time around he is vying for the gubernatorial seat in Mombasa County using the Wiper Party. According to Mizani Africa a few minutes ago Sonko is having a commanding lead in the race. He is the most popular candidate with 34.6%. He has overtaken the Orange Democratic Movement aspirant Abdulswamad who has been reigning in the previous polls. Abdulswamad is following now with 27.1%. United Democratic Alliance candidate Hassan Omar is in third place with 26.3%.

In my opinion, these opinion polls give us a chance to evaluate our leaders vying for the different seats. But we also need to vote for people who have a good development track record since they started politics not just those who pledge us goodies but don't fulfill them after ascending to power.
