Kenyans might be getting closer to knowing who will be nominated as the front runner for the position of the Chief Justice following the latest updates.
On Friday morning, the Court of Appeal will rule on a case which barred the Judicial Service Commission from deliberating on the interviews which took place in the last two weeks and announcing the outcomes.
The orders were made earlier last week following petitions that were filed by Kenyans who raised a few issues regarding the selection process.
Giving the order, the court noted that the petition constituted weighty constitutional issues which needed addressed. It further stopped JSC from conducting interviews for the Supreme Court judge.
If the Court of Appeal vacates the High Court's orders, JSC will be free to release the results of the selection process and Kenyans might know who performed best and hence the likely person to become the next Chief Justice.
