The former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga has today received the much-awaited boost on his presidential bid. This is as a result of over twenty-five serving governors committing to support his presidential bid. The governors who were drawn from various political parties came together to unanimously render their support for Mr. Odinga in the forthcoming election. The counties' political heavyweights said that they will commit both their political and financial strengths in ensuring Mr. Odinga clinches the presidency.
This will largely shake the political divide given that it comes just about two hundred days to the general elections. Unlike Raila Odinga who has deployed county bosses, Mr. Ruto has been greatly banking on Members of parliament to help him ascend to the presidency.
It is with no doubt that 2022 is shaping up to be a two-horse race featuring Deputy President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. There are other camps like the OKA formation but they do not show sufficient strengths to constitute a third force.
