President Uhuru Kenyatta has been alleged to be extremely unpopular especially in Mount Kenya region, that's why he has chosen to keep off the Azimio la Umoja Movement-One Kenya Alliance coalition presidential campaigns in Mount Kenya region. Despite him being the Azimio coalition chairman, Uhuru has chosen to be quiet and avoid accompanying the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua on the campaign trail.
Speaking during an interview with NTV, Prof Gitile Naituli who hails from Mount Kenya region, claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is extremely unpopular especially in Mount Kenya region. That's why he might have chosen to keep off the Azimio la Umoja Movement-One Kenya Alliance coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga's campaigns, since it is better for Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua to campaign on their own than having him on the campaign trail because he might cost them heavily.
