Just few hours after UDA issued an official statement tying their arch rivals in the 2022 general elections Orange Democratic Movement and its leader Raila Odinga as the masterminds behind the violence that has been witnessed in most of United Democratic Alliance rallies, ODM through their secretary general Edwin Sifuna have fired back distancing themselves from the violence.
In a statement issued by Edwin, ODM blamed Ruto's party UDA for looking for slightest chance to withdraw the attention of Kenyans from the harmful 'madoadoa' remarks that were made in Ruto's rally, apart from their efforts to draw attention of masd from the remarks, ODM has also accused UDA of looking for a chance to paint their party leader Raila Odinga badly.
The statement went ahead to state that the Deputy President's philosophy of giving out handouts and paying the youths to attend his rallies is what has backfired in many occasions when the youths come demanding for a share of the money and end up disrupting the rallies. They cited the examples of Kondele, Kieni and they have every reason to believe that this is what happened at Jacaranda. Below is a full statement signed by the party secretary general Edwin Sifuna.
