There has been a lot of uncertainty over who the ODM party gave the direct ticket to vie for Migori senate.The party in a circular on Friday indicated that there won't be elections for senator and governor in Migori County.Instead, the nominations will be for woman representative, Suna West and members of county Assembly.
In a story done by Nation today, they indicated that the party had settled on direct tickets for Senator Ochillo Ayacko who is vying for senate, five MPS and senatorial hopeful Eddy Okech.
Essy Gicheru Okech vied for the senate in 2017 but did not manage to win as Ben Oluoch Okello flew the party ticket.He would later bag the senate but died a year later.At the time Ochillo Ayacko wanted governor.After Oluoch's death, there was a by election and Eddy ran against Ochillo Ayacko.Ayacko won over Gicheru who ran on Independent.
With Ochillo now running for governor, a vacancy was created at the senate.All the people that Gicheru was running against are a newcomers and that's probably why they decided to settle on Gicheru for Senate.
The nominations will take place tomorrow.
