President Uhuru Kenyatta has today awarded his niece Nana Gecaga and his nephew Jomo Gecaga with state commendations. The State spokesperson Kanze Dena, political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi and Nzioka Waita, Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu and justice Isaac Lenaola and Daniel Musinga were among notable individuals who were honoured. In his remarks President Uhuru Kenyatta praised them for their distinguished services they rendered to the country.
His awards to the prominent State officials just comes three weeks before his retirement. The list included more than five hundred Kenyans who served in his administration. However, Mutahi Ngunyi has delivered a strong message to President Uhuru Kenyatta. In his remarks he said, "Many thanks to President Uhuru Kenyatta for the AWARD of the Order of the Elder of the Burning Spear (EBS). As a fellow Political Scientist and my SENIOR in the discipline, he has also been my PRACTICAL teacher and MENTOR. I share this AWARD with my CLEVER team at State House."
