What Irene Njoki, The Woman Who Defeated Kimani Ngunjiri In Bahati Constituency Said Today

Irene Njoki was announced the winner of Bahati's parliamentary seat after gathering 34,308 votes. The popular woman defeated the incumbent MP Kimani Ngunjiri of UDA and became the first woman to win an MP's seat in Bahati's constituency since the start of multi-party politics. Having won the race, Irene Njoki thanked the residents of the region for the victory and promised to work with everyone for the best of the residents.Today, Irene was interviewed by Inooro TV and she made a few remarks regarding her victory. She basically thanked the people for choosing her and other women and believing that women can deliver good services to them.

She further claimed that having women in leadership doesn't mean that the people don't want to choose men, and that people should not confuse such with competence. She further claimed that she has been in the transport sectors and that she is going to work for the people but while playing the roles of an MP.
