Deputy President William Ruto, who was supposed to close Devolution Conference in Makueni has skipped the function, his communications team in a statement said that he will be in Nyandarua County.
The devolution conference in Wote, Makueni County is set to end without being occasioned by either president Uhuru Kenyatta or Deputy President William Ruto. During it's opening, president Uhuru Kenyatta was represented by interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiangi. The president is still in South Africa where he was holding bilateral talks.
Deputy President who was supposed to attend today skipped the event according to his media team. Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was present during the opening ceremony.
Wiper Democratic party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka also skipped the events. Kalonzo Musyoka's close allies accused Makueni County Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana of sidelining the Wiper leader. Machakos Governor and Kitui Governor all graced the event showcasing products from their respective counties.
