Raila Odinga's ODM Top MP Announces he Will be Quitting Politics

Days after Bonchari constituency Member of Parliament Honourable Pavel Oimeke announced that he would seat to retain his position as an independent candidate, he has changed his mind.

He has announced that he will not be seeking re-election in the much anticipated August general elections and that he will be quitting politics all together after he completes his current term.

This cones days after he was denied a direct ticket by the Orange Democratic Movement ODM party with Orange party having given a direct ticket to US-based businessman Jonah Onkendi.

Mr Onkendi vied in the May by-election on The New Democrats (TND) party ticket and finished fourth with the by-elections having been held after the death of death of MP Oroo Oyioka.

Oimeke accused Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati and Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka of orchestrating the move to have the ticket handed over to USA based businessman Jonah Onkendi.

"It is indeed a sad day for the people of Bonchari since they were ready even to participate in the ODM party nomination to choose me to participate in the August election."Pavel Oimeke had noted.

He has also been accused of having been an absentee Member of Parliament since the by-elections were held.
