There is upcoming by-elections taking place in Kandara constituency, Garissa Township and Elgeyo Marakwet county in their senatorial seat. Jubilee Party that is led by the former president, Hon. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta has given their way forward. They announced that they will not be fielding any candidates in these upcoming by-elections.

Led by their Secretary General, Hon. Jeremiah Kioni, he said the final decision has been informed by findings of the Supreme Court that IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati acted unilaterally without involving other commissioners in making core decisions in the August 9 elections.
He said that Jubilee can therefore not engage in any elections being led by the current IEBC under Wafula Chebukati.

Kioni further said that Chebukati should have proceeded on terminal leave pending appointment of a new chairman. He said that they are pulling out of the by-elections as one of the ways to exert pressure on Kenya Kwanza admnistration to embrace good governance.
This is a move that is giving UDA a good chance to retain these seats.
