"Work With Us" President Ruto Urges Raila Odinga as He Sends Him This Crucial Request

President William Ruto has today urged Opposition Leader Raila Odinga and other leaders in the opposition to work with the government.

President urged the opposition to work with the government and push the country's agenda ahead. He noted that the opposition is free to criticize and oversight the government.

However, the President has also sent a request to the opposition, that as they criticize the government and play their oversight role, they should keep our country peaceful.

The President requested the opposition not hit the streets with demonstrations and street fights.

I want to tell our brothers in the opposition to work with us. They're free to criticize, and that is okay with us, but let's keep the country peaceful. Street demonstrations and street fights should not be part of the script of any responsible opposition unless they want to be a dictatorial opposition, because that does not work for anybody, it does not even work for them," the President said.

His remarks come a day after Raila hinted at hitting the streets with demos to defend the 4 troubled IEBC commissioners that the parliament wants to kick out and replace.

The four commissioners are being accused of trying to compromise the last general election when they disowned IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati's presidential result declaration.
