ODM leader Raila Odinga was forced to cut short ODM party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna speech at one of their stopover Soweto during their tour of Embakasi, Nairobi County, after Sifuna asked him to empower the hustlers that had come out to listen to him.
In his speech, Sifuna complained about the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), telling Raila to ensure he talk with the tax authorities when he will be forwarding the 6000 shillings monthly promise to the needy families.
He claimed that the tax authority will be on the neck of poor hustler and suggested that Raila should consider the option of giving the money directly to the hustler when time comes.
Baba hawa watu wamesikia hiyo promise yako ya sh 6,000. Lakini kuna kamiti ya roho chafu wanatungoja, Fuliza na KRA wanangoja hiyo pesa mbaya sana. Ata tunaomba ikiwezekana utupige laini tupewe kwa mkono (Baba these people have listened to your sh. 6000 promise. But their is a bad group waiting for that 6,000 promise, Fuliza and KRA. If possible, you should give us that money on hand)," he said.
However, his speech was cut short by the ODM supremo as he asked him to boost the hustlers of Embakasi Central Constituency who they were addressing.
Sifuna told Raila that his 6000 shillings promise is a good deal that will save poor Kenyans, but he challenged Raila to empower the hustlers with 3,000 shillings each as they wait for the 6,000 shillings promise.
"Baba ata Leo ukitupiga deposit si mbaya tukingoja thao sita. Ata hiyo deposit ya thao tatu si mbaya (Baba it won't be bad even if you boost us today as we wait for 6,000 shillings promise. Even a deposit of 3,00 shillings today is not bad)," Sifuna said before being interrupted by the ODM supremo.
"Twende, twende, wewe twende (Let's go, you let us go)," Raila ordered his motorcade after cutting Sifuna's speech.
