Deputy President William Ruto has maintained that he is working to ensure that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is a national party, with a national outlook that involves everyone irrespective of their region, religion or social class.
He however affirmed that the party is made to empower the ordinary mwananchi ranging from the mama mboga, the boda boda riders and any of the small scale and medium businesses.
Speaking in Kilgoris, Narok County where he had a consultative meeting with grassroot leaders from Emurua DIkirr Constituency, Ruto dismissed the Jubilee party stating that it was overtaken by frauds who destroyed it by kicking out political leaders who were associated with him.
He hit on the party's Vice chairman David Murathe and Raphael Tuju for the move terming it a political balkanization, and further adding that he and his team have assembled their energies in building the UDA Party, which will be a national political outfit.
"The Jubilee party was taken by matapeli (frauds) who turned it to a private property of selected few, and further kicked out the most members. And because we do not want to go back to the politics of ethnicity and hatred, we formed UDA," said Ruto.
