Fred Matiang'i, the former cabinet secretary for interior, secretly left the country on February 19 after being told to appear at the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters.
The immigration department on Tuesday delivered a letter to the DCI in which it was revealed that Matiang'i left the country last week immediately after receiving a summons to appear at the DCI headquarters for questioning.
"On January 12, 2022, the passport number was given to Dr. Okengo Matiangi. A diplomatic passport is also something that he possesses. He departed through JKIA on KLM flight number KL 566 on February 19, 2023 "Check out part of the letter.
The final destination of Fred Matiang'i after he departed the airport was not made public by the immigration office at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). Although it is thought that Matiang'i's eventual destination was Amsterdam, Netherlands, a hidden report claims that the jet transporting him landed there.
In order to be investigated for the purported raid that allegedly took place in his Karen house on February 8, Matiang'i was scheduled to appear before the DCI on Friday, February 24.
