Uhuru Includes Kibicho and Matiang’i in the Transition Committee

In his preparation for retirement, President Uhuru Kenyatta has already started making arrangements to hand over power. In a publication made by one of the local dailies, President Kenyatta has included people allied to Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya in the transition committee that will hand over power. The list which has been shared include powerful individuals in the Jubilee administration, and most of them are allied to Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya side. 

The individuals include Fred Matiang’i, Karanja Kibicho, Attorney General Kihara Kariuki, General Robert Kibochi among other powerful government officials. These individuals are tasked with ensuring that transition is carried out smoothly and within the law.

The constitution has mandated the president with the task of appointing the individuals to sit in that committee through the President Act No. 21 of 2012. The committee outlines the format of inauguration ceremony and guides the new president on the things that happen in the corridors of power.

Kenyans are only left with a month to know who the next President of the country will be. The transition can cause chaos if not organized well and executed to the latter.
