The deputy president William Ruto who is seen as a political Mastermind has declared his interest to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta whose terms of office ends next year after serving his two five year terms in office. The deputy president who feels betrayed by his boss Uhuru has been keen on taking over the mount Kenya region. So far My. Kenya is region is one of the regions with the highest registered number of voters.
The region has attracted the interest of Raila Odinga and William Ruto as they are the key candidates in the race. Raila has the support of the president, government representatives from the area, elected mps, MCAs, senators, governors and the business community from this region. This is seen as a mileage for the deputy president who earlier on, enjoyed massive support from the region. However, the deputy president need to move with speed to take over the region. The deputy president needs to:
1. The deputy president need to take advantage of the region now that they have not fully settled on who to support. He therefore need to move with speed to lure elected leaders like: Kieni mp Kanini Kega, Kipipiri mp Amos Kimunya, Muranga women representative Sabina Chege, Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi, Kiambu governor James Nyoro onto his camp.
2. The deputy president need to sell him bottom up economic model to the Mt. Kenya Foundation and since they have not settle on whether to support Rails or the OKA principals, this will give him an upper hand of being considered by this group.
3. The deputy president can apply the devide and rule policy on the mountain region and by doing so, the region will be divided hence to his advantage.
4. The deputy president need to offer them the deputy's post that is the running mate post, and continue reminding voter if "yangu kumi na yako kumi" this will lure most of them towards the deputy's side than Raila's side.
After realisation of the above tactics, the president will have no option than to support the deputy president William Ruto into the region.
